biodiversity

Costa Rica, as the name says, is a very rich coast, full of life and nature with a territory of 51,100 km2, it seems incredible that there are more than 500,000 species, which is more than 5% of the world’s biodiversity.

biodiversity
This biodiversity is attributed to its geographical position, mountain system and two coasts, which provide microclimates that explain this natural treasure.

In Costa Rica, the natural resources are highly appreciated, therefore, many organizations are in charge of caring and protecting the environment. Another important fact that goes in the same line of biodiversity, is that Costa Rica is concerned about being a sustainable country. In fact, it is considered the fourth most sustainable country in Latin America. Due to this, this part of the world is seeking to develop these resources, an example of this is Ecotourism, which is an idea of alternative tourism that offers tourists the most ecological option, always trying to leave a knowledge in people.

Costa Rica has many nature reserves, but it is important to mention that the oldest and first was Cabo Blanco, located in the province of Puntarenas.

Thanks to the recognition of this territory as a reserve, an initiative was given, as this reserve protects more than 3000 acres of land and more than 4000 acres of ocean. In fact, Cabo Blanco was founded in 1963, but it was not until 1970 that a system of national parks was created in Costa Rica, SINAC is a very important organization for the administration and protection of many protected areas in the country, including Cabo Blanco.

Costa Rica is a great example for other countries in the world, every resource has been handled in an intelligent and efficient way as nature gives it to us; and the best way to express our gratitude is to protect and take care of it. Every place has something magical and unique, Costa Rica discovered what is their greatest treasure.
