Day by day Itinerary

Day 1. San José. Overnight at the most convenient hotel according to the flight’s arrival time.

Day 2. Arenal Volcano area. One of the best destinations for those that love macro, hundreds of hectares of rainforest surrounded by fabulous gardens and trails. Flowers, butterflies, rainforest frogs and even large snakes.

• Departure time from San Jose 8:00 am
• Arrival to Arenal 11:30 am approx.. garden photography upon arrival
• Lunch 1:00 pm
• 3:00 pm Garden exploring
• Dinner 6:30 PM
• Nocturnal macro photography 7:30-9:30 pm

 Day 3. Arenal Volcano area.. All-day at the hotel’s rainforest.

•       Departure nature hike 8:00-11:30 am
•       Lunch 1:00 pm
•       3:00 pm Garden exploring
•       Dinner 6:30 PM
•       Nocturnal macro photography 7:30-9:30 pm

Day 4. Tenorio Volcano. Without a doubt is the macro destination par excellence, no other rainforest in all of Costa Rica has such incredible access to the canopies. A large net of trails interconnected by suspension bridges. Timing nature above and below you. A dream come true for hard-core photographers. Day and night is a superb experience.

•     Departure time: 8:00 am
•     Arrival time: 11: 00 am
•     Lunch 12:00 pm
•     Rainforest exploring 1:30 pm
•     Dinner 6:00 PM
•     Nocturnal macro photography 7:00-10:00 pm

Day 5. Tenorio Volcano. Life above the jungle floor. Today our journey can well be a unique experience amongst them all. We will explore all natural marvels from a monkey’s perspective.

•       Breakfast 9:00 am
•       Hanging Bridges 5:30 am
•       Lunch at 1:30 pm and return to the canopy bridges
•       Dinner 6:30 pm
•       Night hike 7:30 – 9:30 pm

Day 6. Monteverde Cloud forest. A wonderful misty forest in the hidden mountains of Tilaran’s Range. Known as one of the ’50s most beautiful places on earth. Dripping branches covered by hundreds of plants including favorites such as orchids, and bromeliads. An untamed microcosmos exists within each tree.

•       Breakfast 7:30 am
•       Depart to Monteverde at 8:30 am. Cloud forest nature hike upon arrival
•       Lunch 1:00 pm
•       2:30 – 5:00 pm Monteverde Cloud Forest Preserve
•       Dinner 6:30 am
•       Bug hunting 7:30 – 10:00 pm

Day 7.  Monteverde Cloud forest. Early bug hunting: 5:00 – 8:30 am; followed by breakfast and departure to International Airport (depending on flight schedules)
